The small town of Gudur lies in the south of the state Andhra Pradesh about 10 kilometers from the Bay of Bengal as the crow flies. The standard of living of the population is very low. Most people work as daily hands if work is available at all. These conditions are especially hard for families with many children.
An Indian Christian offered Christusträger-Waisendienst a piece of land at a reasonable price under the condition that it would be used for children in need. We decided to accept this offer and build a children’s home here. The place is ideal, the nearest primary school can be reached on foot in 15 minutes, the nearest secondary school in 10 minutes.
With the donations of our friends a nice children’s home was built with all necessary rooms, a playground and a wide open-air grounds. Today 60 boys have found a home here. They get accommodation, food, clothes, loving care, education and Christian instruction. After finishing school they can get a job training according to their personal talents.
